What to update when a generator moves before it sells

By SellMyGen Editorial Team

Moving the generator can make earlier photographs and pickup terms outdated even when its identity remains the same. Treat relocation as a package update rather than changing only the ZIP code.

01

Confirm identity after the move

Match the set serial and unit reference at the new location. Reconcile separately moved accessories and documents. Record any parts temporarily removed or still stored at the previous site. Do not assume a complete package arrived together because the main generator is present.

02

Document current condition

Take permitted overview and condition photos at the new site and record the date. Note known changes or newly observed issues without attributing causes beyond the available evidence. Keep earlier photos as historical records, clearly distinguished from the current package.

03

Replace the logistics description

Update ZIP code, installation status, access route, loading responsibility, custody contact and available pickup window. Confirm whether the same provider arrangements still apply. A previous quote may have assumed a different site or stage of preparation, so ask the responsible provider to review the change.

04

Reconfirm active offers

Tell active bidders which facts and terms changed and provide the revised package version. Ask whether their offers remain valid on the new basis. Keep any revised terms linked to the original proposal instead of treating them as an unrelated extra bid in the pricing history.
