Put each claim beside its source
Create rows for the disputed field, stated value, document date, equipment identifier and source filename. Preserve units and labels. A site inventory might list 500 while a plate lists 625 kVA; those entries are not meaningful comparisons until their units and rating categories are established.
Check whether the records describe the same thing
Determine whether each document refers to the complete set, engine, alternator or a previous installation. Compare serials and site tags. A replacement component or renamed asset can explain a mismatch, but do not assume that explanation without support. Mark records with an uncertain equipment connection for separate review.
Ask a focused clarification question
Send the relevant evidence through an authorized manufacturer or qualified specialist channel and ask about the exact discrepancy. Include the original plate photo rather than a transcription alone. A useful request identifies the two conflicting statements and asks which applies to the current assembled set and why.
Publish the resolution with its limits
When a supported answer is available, update the master equipment description and notify active bidders of the correction. Retain the earlier records and the clarifying response. If the issue remains unresolved, show the competing values with their sources rather than presenting an unsupported compromise or average.
