SALE PREPARATION

Create an accessory inventory for your generator sale

By SellMyGen Editorial Team

Accessories need their own inventory when they are stored separately or difficult to identify in overview photos. A short list with quantities and photographs makes the package easier to review and reconcile at pickup.

01

Inventory by item rather than storage box

List each accessory type, quantity, identifying label and condition as observed. Separate installed equipment from loose items. For boxed parts, say whether the box was opened and the contents verified. A carton with a part number is not proof that the matching part is inside or that it is unused.

02

Keep compatibility claims supported

Record readable part numbers and any documentation tying the item to the generator. If compatibility is unconfirmed, say so. Do not infer that a filter, controller or cable is suitable just because it was stored nearby. Let the buyer or a qualified equipment specialist assess suitability from the documented information.

03

Photograph and locate the items

Use an overview of each group plus readable label photos where useful. Assign a reference that matches the inventory, and record where the item is stored. Identify anything stored at a different address so the buyer can consider a second collection. Keep detailed access instructions in private pickup coordination.

04

Reconcile the final handover

Before pickup, compare actual items against the accepted included-equipment schedule. Note shortages, substitutions or newly found items and obtain agreement on any change. Keep an itemized handover record rather than relying on a statement that all accessories were collected. Retain copies of the inventory and relevant photos with your sale records.
